Additional and Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani heard the case of alleged harassment of a girl by Farhanuddin, a friend of Pakistan Test cricketer Yasir Shah.
The main accused in the case, Farhanuddin, escaped from the courtroom and police failed to arrest him.
The court, after hearing the arguments in the case, rejected the bail application of the main accused Farhan.
District and Sessions Court acquitted national cricketer Yasir Shah in the case and Shalimar police station in Islamabad removed Yasir Shah’s name from the FIR.
The victim said in her confessional statement that Yasir Shah’s name was included in the FIR due to misrepresentation and the league spinner had nothing to do with the case.
On the other hand, after being acquitted in the case, he said in his statement that the harassment case against me was dropped due to the prayers of Pakistan Cricket Board, fans and family and it would not have been possible without their trust.
The league spinner said in his tweet that I am the representative of Pakistan and whoever tries to defame me will in fact defame the country.
“I was very disappointed but I refrained from taking revenge and decided to go to court to expose the truth,” he said.
The cricketer, who has represented Pakistan in 46 Tests and 25 ODIs, said that only Pakistan’s enemies can fall to such an extent, such people do such things for their personal interests.
On the occasion, Yasir Shah said that he would also file a defamation suit against those who tried to defame him.
