Eight teams, including Pakistan’s women’s cricket team, will take part in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) said in a statement on Tuesday that the eight-team line-up for the Birmingham Games has been completed following Sri Lanka’s victory in the ICC Commonwealth Qualifiers in Kuala Lumpur last week.

Apart from Pakistan’s women’s team, women’s teams from Sri Lanka, Australia, Barbados, England, India, New Zealand and South Africa will also take part in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.

The first match of the Commonwealth Games 2022 will be played between the teams of Australia and India on July 29.

The teams are divided into two groups. Group A includes Pakistan, India, Australia and Barbados. The women’s cricket teams of England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka have been placed in Group B.

Cricket was first included in the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, and in the final, South Africa, led by Sean Pollock, beat Australia to win the gold medal.
