Starting batting for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mumbai, Virat Kohli threw the ball to left-arm spinner Jagdish Seth in the hands of a fielder on a straight short mid-wicket.
This was the third time in the current IPL that Virat Kohli was dismissed on the first ball, including being dismissed on the Golden Dick in two consecutive matches last month.
The 33-year-old star batsman and former Indian captain has scored just 216 runs in 12 matches with the help of just one half-century.
Other cricket experts, including former Indian cricket coach Ravi Shastri, believe that Kohli is “very tired” due to constant cricket and should now take a break from the game.
Virat Kohli’s poor batting performance and out-of-form comes at a time when he was stepping down as India’s captain in T20 and Test cricket and was removed from the captaincy of the ODI team.
Virat Kohli’s poor performance and form can be gauged from the fact that after playing more than 100 matches in all styles of cricket, he has so far failed to score a century.
