US President Joe Biden’s Gaffe
US President Joe Biden made a blunder, saying first lady Jill Biden, was the Vice President during Barack Obama’s administration. During a speech at submarine commissioning ceremony, he was appreciating his wife Jill Biden for her commitment and work with military families.
Joe Biden said in appreciation of her wife, “The daughter of a Navy signalman during World War Two, the mother of a member of the Delaware National Guard, the grandmother of children who experienced having their father deployed away from home for a year at a time. She always holds our military and their families in her heart.”
And then the moment came when he attributed his wife for being Obama’s Vice President.
He said, “I’m deeply proud of the work she is doing as first lady with Joining Forces initiative she started with Michelle when she was vice president and now carries on.”
The White House had to correct the blunder in their official transcript.
The official transcript reads, “And I’m deeply proud of the work she is doing as First Lady with Joining Forces initiative she started with Michelle Obama when she [I] was Vice President and now carries on,”.
