According to the UAE’s state news agency WAM, the Turkish president was seen off at the presidential terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport by several other officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During President Tayyip Rajab’s visit to the UAE, a number of agreements were signed in the fields of security, economy and technology.
Earlier, on his arrival in the UAE capital, he was received by Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Turkish president’s visit was the first to the UAE since 2013, when the two countries went through crises linked to regional conflicts.
It should be noted that the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had visited Turkey in November last year in which the two countries had signed a number of agreements.
During his recent visit, the Turkish president said his visit was aimed at boosting cooperation with the UAE in areas such as climate change and water and food security.
During the Turkish President’s historic visit, the leaders of the two countries also discussed various developments in the Middle East.
The leaders stressed the importance of supporting a peaceful solution aimed at enhancing security and peace and stability in the region.
