A grand opening ceremony has been held at the National Stadium in Karachi before the first match of the seventh edition of the league.
The event began with a brief look at the 70-year history of Pakistan cricket from the 1950s to 2022 in which Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Rameez Raja elaborated and paid tribute to the national heroes.
From Fazal Mehmood’s historic performance in the Oval to Hanif Mohammad’s century in the West Indies and Javed Miandad’s six in Sharjah, all the great players were honored in this video.

The documentary also captures the memorable events of the Imran Khan-led national team’s victory in the World Cup in 1992, from winning the World T20 in 2009 to defeating India in the Champions Trophy in 2017.
The National Stadium was then ablaze with lights, while world-renowned parachute athletes Florent Dregier, Paul Steiner and Stephen Mueller performed paragliding.
The excitement of the audience at the event reached its peak when superstars Atif Aslam and Aima Baig performed the official anthem of the seventh edition, evoking the magic of sound.
After that, Prime Minister Imran Khan along with Chairman Rameez Raja announced the inauguration of the league in a special video.

“I hope every team fights to the last ball and entertains the people,” he said in a video message.
After the inauguration of the league by the Prime Minister, the ceremony was concluded with a dazzling fireworks display.
The thrilling matches of the seventh edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) are starting in Karachi from today and the opening match will be played between defending champions Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings.
