T20 match: Australia won by 3 wickets against Pakistan

The only T20 Australia captain to play at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Arun Finch, won the toss and invited Babar Azam to bat first.

Mohammad Rizwan and captain Babar Azam started confidently and added 67 runs for the first wicket partnership.

Mohammad Rizwan became Green’s wicket off the fourth ball of the eighth over, scoring 23 off 19 balls with the help of a four and a six.

Fakhr Zaman came in second for batting and caught Finch off Green’s ball on the first ball.

Captain Babar Azam continued to bat responsibly and pushed the team’s score forward.

Iftikhar Ahmed scored 13 runs and supported the captain till the total of 93.

Continuing his form, Babar Azam completed another half-century and was dismissed by Zampa after an innings of 66 for 116.

Asif Ali’s innings was limited to 3 runs and Alice’s wicket on the score of 127.

Hassan Ali scored 10 runs to help Khushdal Shah reach 142 runs.

Khushdal Shah’s 24-run innings also ended at 142.

Batting aggressively, Usman Qadir scored 18 off 6 balls with the help of 2 fours and a six in the closing moments and led the team to a reasonable target.

Muhammad Waseem scored 2 runs without getting out.

Pakistan scored 162 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated overs.

Ellis took the most 4 wickets for Australia, Cameron Green took 2 wickets.

In pursuit of the target, the Australian openers put up a 40-run partnership, but Harris Rauf bowled Travis Head, who scored 26 off 14 balls.

In the second wicket, Aaron Finch and Josh Inglis shared 84 runs.

England scored 24 runs and became the wicket of Usman Qadir, who faced 15 balls.

Marin Luboshen scored just two runs, after which Stevens added 23 runs for the captaincy and was dismissed for 119.

Cameron Green’s innings did not go beyond 2 runs and Muhammad Wasim was given the wicket.

He faced 45 balls from Aaron Finch and scored 55 runs to bring the team close to victory.

Shane Abbott was the last batsman to be bowled out for zero off Shaheen Shah Afridi’s delivery.

Ben McDermott scored 22 runs to take the team to victory by 3 wickets.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Qadir and Muhammad Waseem took 2.2 wickets each.

Aaron Finch was named man of the match.

Earlier, Pakistan had put up a stellar performance in the one-day series, winning 1-2.

Australia had beaten Pakistan 0-1 in the Test series.

Pakistan was being declared the favorite for the T20 match.
