In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and invited Quetta Gladiators to bowl first.
When Zalmai started the innings, Naseem Shah spelled brilliantly and moved Hazratullah Zazai and Liam Livingston in one over.
Young Muhammad Haris and Shoaib Malik formed a partnership of 52 runs after two foreign players were dismissed for 6 runs but after scoring 29 runs, Harris returned to the pavilion.
Then came Hussain Talat on the wicket who made a partnership of 73 runs for the fourth wicket with veteran Shoaib Malik to take the score to 131.
Shoaib Malik was dismissed after playing an innings of 58 runs with 8 fours.
New batsman Sharfin Rutherford’s short stay on the wicket was short and he gave the wicket to Iftikhar without scoring a run after playing six balls.
In the closing overs, Ben Cutting took an aggressive approach and Sohail Tanveer hit four sixes in one over and played an innings of 36 off 14 balls while Hussain Talat also scored 51 runs.
Peshawar Zalmi scored 185 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated overs, while Naseem Shah took four wickets for the Gladiators.
When the Gladiators started the innings in pursuit of the target, the team was shocked at the score of 24 when Jason Roy became the wicket of Livingston after scoring 13 runs.
James Vance failed again and became Usman Qadir’s wicket without opening the account.
