that’s right. Simone Biles won her record eighth U.S. gymnastics title on Sunday night, August 27, 2023, at the 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in San Jose, California. She scored an all-around two-day total of 118.40, four points clear of runner-up Shilese Jones.
This is Biles’s first national title since 2021. She withdrew from the 2020 Olympics after one event due to mental health concerns.
Biles is the most decorated gymnast in US history, with 32 medals across the Olympics and the world championships. She is also the only gymnast to have won five Olympic gold medals in individual events.
Biles’s victory is a major boost for the US gymnastics team ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
