Rashid Khan wishes to play more test matches

Afghan Cricket player Rashid Khan Wishes for more opportunities to play Test matches against top teams, the player told Reuters on Friday.

Rashid has been a part of five out of six Tests of Afghanistan’s since the country was given Full Membership of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2017.

The team was scheduled to play a one-off Test in Hobart in the month of November but Cricket Australia decided to postpone the match citing uncertainty over the future of women’s cricket under Taliban’s rule in Afghanistan.

Rashid expressed regret on missing out on an opportunity to test his skills against players like Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne.

“As a player, it disappoints you because you always wait for opportunities to play big teams,” the Afghani player, currently playing for Gujarat Titans in the IPL, said.

“It’s about improving your cricket and learning new things.

“We all were looking forward to it but sometimes things do not go your way. I hope we get the opportunity to play them soon.”

Famous for his name in Twenty20 leagues all over the world, Rashid Khan knows the importance of playing test crickets for the growth of a player.
