In the fifth match of the event played at the National Stadium in Karachi, Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Zalmai’s first loss came on the third ball of the first over of the match. Tom Kohler Cadmore lost the wicket on Hassan Ali’s ball without scoring a run.
After him Peshawar Zalmi batsman Yasir Khan also got out, he scored 14 runs off 9 balls with the help of 3 fours and was caught by Shadab Khan on the bowling of Faheem Ashraf.
After that Haider Ali also returned to the pavilion after scoring 15 runs off 13 balls on Shadab Khan’s ball.

When Islamabad United started chasing the target, the openers gave the team an aggressive start and completed half a century in just three overs.
Paul Sterling and Alex Hales took the offensive line and completed the fifty off just 18 balls with a four off Usman Qadir.
The openers gave the team a winning start of 112 runs within 10 overs after which Sterling was run out and returned to the pavilion. He played an innings of 57 runs off 25 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes.
After that, Rehmanullah Garbaz came to support Hales and both of them played their best and led their team to victory without any further loss.
Islamabad United easily achieved the target just before 25 balls and started the event with a magnificent victory of 9 wickets.
Alex Hales hit an unbeaten 82 off 54 balls with 13 fours and a six while Rahmanullah scored 27 off 16 balls.
It should be noted that in the history of PSL, both the teams have played 16 matches against each other so far in which Peshawar Zalmi won 8 and Islamabad United won 7 matches while one match could not be played.
