PPP, MQM-P refrain from joining federal cabinet

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) have refused to join the cabinet of the coalition government, Bol News reported on Saturday.
In an informal talk with the media at the Parliament House, PPP co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari said his party was unwilling to take any ministry in the new coalition government.
“PPP isn’t taking ministries in the new government. We want to accommodate friends first,” he said.
ON Friday, the central leaders of PPP had held a consultative session at Zardari House to discuss the ministries in the new government.
Meanwhile, it has also been learnt through sources that MQM-P has also declined the offer of taking any ministries in the coalition government.
The party’s convener Dr Khalid Maqbool was given the authority to decide on the issue of joining the federal cabinet.
