

Punjab police say a sub-inspector has been killed in the Lahore High Court due to violence by lawyers.
According to the security staff of the High Court, the incident took place outside the court of Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan on Monday.
Details released by the security staff also said that an accused named Muhammad Tayyab had filed his bail application in a case in Narowal area.
Tayyab was charged with threatening a citizen, in which he had approached the Lahore High Court for bail.
Judge Waheed Khan did not grant him bail. As soon as Muhammad Tayyab left the court, Punjab police sub-inspector Muhammad Salman tried to arrest him.


Muhammad Tayyab’s two lawyers Syed Manzar Abbas and Tanveer Sadiq tried to stop the sub-inspector and chase away the accused.
According to the security staff, however, the sub-inspector arrested the accused in spite of this, on which the said lawyers started torturing the sub-inspector.
According to the security staff, the accused also escaped and sub-inspector Muhammad Salman fell to the ground and fainted. When he was taken to Mayo Hospital, he was told that the policeman had died.
