The Australian Cricket Board has announced the squad for the Pakistan cricket team

The Australian team will tour Pakistan after almost 25 years and this will be the first overseas tour for Test matches after facing England in the 2019 Ashes series.

Fast bowler Josh Hazelwood has returned to the side after recovering from injury, while Scott Boland, who led Australia to a stunning 0-4 Ashes series win over England, has been named in the squad under Pat Cummins. The place is maintained.

This development has disproved the fears of senior players withdrawing from the tour due to security issues after both England and New Zealand withdrew from the tour of Pakistan late last year.

No Australian team has visited Pakistan since 1998.

Selector George Bailey said the squad took into account all the circumstances, including the fact that Australia’s last tour to Pakistan was long overdue.

He said that after several successful tours of the subcontinent and the successful one-day World Cup in India with the upcoming Ashes series, now this tour is a big challenge for the group.

He said that the tour would be historic in the sense that it was taking place long after the last tour of the Australian team to Pakistan.

Ashton Eger is the only player in the squad who did not participate in the Ashes series, which was the last series in charge before the resignation of Justin Langer.

Interim coach Andrew MacDonald will lead the Australian team during the tour.

The first Test match between Pakistan and Australia will start on March 4 in Rawalpindi, the second match will be played in Karachi from March 12 and the last Test will be hosted by Lahore from March 21.

The two countries will also play three ODIs and one T20I, for which the Australian squad will be announced separately.

Australia Test squad: Pat Cummins (captain), Ashton Eger, Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazelwood, Tewshead, Josh England, Usman Khawaja, Marin Lubashane, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Michael Nesser, Steve Smith, Mitchell Stark, Mitchell Swapson and David Warner
