Pakistan beat West Indies by five wickets in the first ODI

Pakistan captain Babar Azam said that if he won the toss, he would have bowled first and invited West Indies to bat.

In the first match of the three-match ODI series played in Multan, Pakistan defeated West Indies by five wickets.

Khushdal Shah’s lightning fast innings helped Pakistan reach the target of 306 runs in the last over.

For Pakistan, captain Babar Azam scored a magnificent century. Muhammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq scored half centuries.

Imam-ul-Haq got out after scoring half a century. Fakhr Zaman has also been dismissed and returned to the pavilion.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 305 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs.

Opener Shea Hope was bowled by Harris Rauf for a magnificent century and 127 runs.

West Indies’ first wicket fell when opener Kyle Meyer was dismissed for three off Shaheen Afridi’s ball.
After that Shamar Brooks fell victim to Muhammad Nawaz after scoring 70 runs. Shadab Khan ended a great partnership with a brilliant catch.

The third wicket fell to captain Nicholas Pooran who returned to the pavilion with 21 runs. He was caught by Khushdal Shah off Harris Rauf.

For Pakistan, Shadab Khan took one wicket for 37 runs in 10 overs while Muhammad Nawaz took one wicket for 61 runs in 10 overs.

In the match being played in Multan, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first.
Talking after winning the toss, West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran said that one day series from Pakistan is a challenge.

The temperature in Multan was 45 degrees Celsius before the start of the match.
The West Indies team arrived in Islamabad on June 5 for a tour of Pakistan. Three matches will be played in this tour.

It may be recalled that Pakistan played its last ODI series against Australia at home in which it won by two matches against one.
