Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will spend Saturday night in an immigration detention center after his visa was revoked by Australian authorities for the second time.

According to the media, the world number one tennis player is continuing his efforts to participate in the Australian Open and he has challenged in court the decision of the authorities to deport him from Australia.

The media quoted an eyewitness as saying that Djokovic was once again taken to Melbourne’s Park Hotel detention center where he was also held last week.

Refugee rights activists chanted “Stop the violence, let them go.”

Australian Border Force personnel and Djokovic’s vehicles entered the detention center gate and headed for the underground parking lot.

Australian authorities have housed 33 migrants seeking asylum in Australia.

Novak Djokovic has refused to be vaccinated against coronavirus, and Australian authorities have refused to allow him to enter the country because he does not have a vaccination certificate.

Djokovic won the case by appealing against the decision in court, but authorities have again revoked his visa and begun deportation.
