Defending champions Multan Sultans beat Quetta Gladiators by a huge margin of 117 runs in the match played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore for the eighth victory in the tournament. Defeat
Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan decided to bat first after winning the toss and gave Quetta a big target of 246 runs to win, but she managed only 128 runs.
When Quetta started the innings, DJ Valley dismissed Will Smith in the second over. In the third over, Asif Afridi bowled Ahsan Ali for just one run.
He was followed by Jason Roy, who played well and scored 38 off 19 balls, but he too fell victim to the Valley.
Iftikhar Ahmed had not even stepped on the wicket when Asif Afridi bowled him. Umar Akmal made fifty off 23 balls but he was caught by Imran Tahir.
After him Sohail Tanveer but he too scored five runs and returned to the pavilion at the hands of Khushdal Shah. Similarly, Shah Nawaz Dhani did not allow Noor Ahmed to go beyond eight runs.
Multan Sultans’ David Wiley, Shahnawaz Dhani, Khushdal Shah and Asif Afridi took two wickets each. Imran Tahir took one wicket.

Shaun Masood and Mohammad Rizwan started the innings for the Sultans and both the players gave their team a brilliant start of 119 runs.
Shaun Masood was dismissed for 57 off 38 balls, after which Riley Russo came on the wicket and scored a smoky 71 off just 26 balls, while captain Mohammad Rizwan remained the leading batsman with 83 runs.
Multan Sultans scored 245 runs for the loss of three wickets in the stipulated 20 overs which is the highest score of HBLPSL Seven so far.
A change has been made in the Multan Sultans squad for today’s match and David Wiley has returned in place of Blessing Mozarbani.
Two changes have also been made in the Quetta squad, with James Vance and Khurram Shehzad being replaced by Ahsan Ali and Muhammad Irfan.
