Lahore Qalandars win, Peshawar Zalmi loses second

For Lahore Qalandars, Salman Irshad took two wickets while Usman Qadir and Hussain Talat took one wicket each.

In the ninth match of the event being played at the National Stadium in Karachi, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and invited Lahore Qalandars to bat.

When Lahore Qalandars started the innings, the openers adopted an aggressive style from the beginning and scored runs at an average of 10 runs per over.

Both the players gave the team a great start of 94 runs but on the same score Abdullah Shafiq’s 41-run innings came to an end at the hands of Usman Qadir.

Fakhr Zaman scored another half century and scored 66 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 6 fours but on the ball of Hussain Talat he caught Ben Cutting.

Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Hafeez shared a 45-run stand but Salman Irshad hit Kamran and then David Wise on two consecutive balls.

In the final overs, Rashid Khan batted aggressively and scored 22 runs with the help of 3 sixes, thanks to which Qalandars managed to score 199 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Hafeez played an innings of 37 runs off 19 balls.

For Lahore Qalandars, Salman Irshad took two wickets while Usman Qadir and Hussain Talat took one wicket each.

In pursuit of the goal, Zalmai’s start was no less than a nightmare and even before opening the account, Shaheen zhah Afridi gave a significant victory to his team by dismissing Hazratullah Zazai.

Kamran Akmal formed a partnership of 62 runs with Hussain Talat. During this partnership Kamran Akmal batted aggressively but from the other end Hussain Talat continued to struggle and finally made 15 runs off 24 balls.

Zalmai had not yet recovered from the loss when Zaman Khan got a valuable wicket from Kamran Akmal on the next ball who scored 41 off 24 balls with the help of two sixes and four fours.

Veteran Shoaib Malik had high hopes for the occasion but he too fell victim to Rashid Khan after scoring just seven runs.

At this stage, Sharfin Rutherford came to support Haider Ali and together they increased the score to 125 but this dangerous partnership was ended by Zaman who scored 21 runs off 11 balls.

Haider Ali took advantage of the drop catches and added 33 runs with Ben Cutting but then Shaheen moved the Australian batsman while on the next ball Haider Ali was run out on a direct throw, he scored 49 runs.

After that Zalmai’s batsmen did not show any significant performance and could score 170 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated overs.

Thanks to the 29-run victory in the match, Lahore Qalandars got the second victory in the event.

Qalandars bowler Zaman Khan, who took three wickets for 32 runs in the match, was declared the best player of the match.

Both teams were composed of these players for the match.
