Two laborers were killed and several others were injured while unloading soybeans from a ship anchored at Karachi port.
On Tuesday, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Faisal Sabzwari said that a team has been formed to investigate the incident and will submit a report within 24 hours.
Faisal Sabzwari said that two workers at Karachi port were killed not by gas but by falling into a hatch.
“Yesterday morning, two workers went to the bottom of a private ship. In the evening, when the workers did not return, a search was started. During the work, the workers went to the very bottom of the ship where there was soybean.”
Faisal Sabzwari said that the cause of death of the ship’s crew was not known and the statements of the ship’s crew, steward and other concerned persons would be recorded to ascertain the facts.
On the other hand, after the death of the workers, the residents of the surrounding areas, including Kemari, have become victims of fear and panic.
