Israeli President Isaac Herzog will pay an official two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates later this month.
The president’s office said on Tuesday that this would be the first high-level diplomatic visit since the two countries normalized relations.
The Prime Minister’s visit focused in part on international discussions on Iran’s nuclear program, with Israel’s security a top priority.
Meanwhile, Isaac Herzog will be the first Israeli leader to pay an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
The Israeli president has vowed that a bold new partnership between the two countries will transform the Middle East.
He said Israel wanted to expand the list of Arab countries that signed the Ibrahim Accords.
The agreement was reached during the time of former US President Donald Trump, while the current US President Joe Biden’s administration ratified it.
Under the agreement, relations between Bahrain and Morocco have also been normalized with Israel.
Sudan has also agreed to normalize relations, but growing instability in Khartoum has not yet restored formal diplomatic relations.
