Galaxy S22 series
Samsung has introduced new phones in the Galaxy S22 series.
The Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra were unveiled at an event on February 9.
The South Korean company has made all the features of the Galaxy Note part of the S22 Ultra and it looks like a note series phone but it is the flagship phone of the S series.
Galaxy S22 Ultra
It is the company’s first flagship phone in 2022 to simultaneously replace the 2021 Galaxy S21 Ultra and the 2020 Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, with the addition of the S Pen.
Even its Diane is similar to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, but its display is more curved.
The phone has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a dynamic 120 Hz refresh rate display, which is protected by Gorilla Glass Victis Plus.
The phone as well as the S Pen is water and dust resistant while the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is mounted inside the screen.
The screen features a 40-megapixel selfie camera with a punch-hole design, and this is the first time a Samsung phone has used such a powerful selfie camera.
The main camera on the back of the phone is 108 megapixel as was the case with last year’s Ultra model, with 12 megapixel Ultra Wide, 10 megapixel telephoto (3x zoom) and 10 megapixel periscope (10x zoom). There are cameras.
The phone’s camera setup uses AI technology with new features instead of new hardware to improve video and image quality in low light.
One feature is auto-framing, which can be adjusted and cropped using the Ultra Wide Camera on the back, which will track 110 people and allow them to automatically zoom in on the move.
Samsung has also improved the portrait mode effect, which will now better separate backgrounds.
A night portrait mode has also been added which automatically turns on in low light.
According to the company, the S Pen comes with better 2.8 ms latency and AI-based prediction technology than before, while 88 languages are also supported.
The S22 will feature the company’s own Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 processor, Adreno 730 GPU with Qualcomm processor and 920 GPU based on the new AMDRDNA 2 with Exynos chip.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will have 8 to 12 GB of RAM and 128, 256, 512 and one TB storage options, while the Android 12 operating system is integrated with OneUI 4.1.
The phone will come with a 5000 mAh battery with 45 watt wired fast charging and 15 watt wireless charging support.
It has been offered in pre-order in different countries and will be available to consumers from February 25. In Pakistan, it will be available in pre-order from March 1.
The phone will start at 11 1199 (over PKR 210,000) with 8GB RAM and 128GB models.
S22 and 22 Plus
Both the phones do not have some features of Ultra model but in terms of design it is no less than any other.
Both of these phones are smaller than the Ultra models, especially the S11, so it will appeal to those who want to use the flagship power in a compact size.
The S22 has a 6.1 Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120 refresh rate support, which will vary between 10 and 120 Hz.
The phone comes with a 3700 mAh battery with 25 watts fast charging support.
The S22 Plus has a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The phone comes with a 4500 mAh battery with 45 watt fast charging support, while Wi-Fi 6E support is also provided. The S22 has Wi-Fi 6 support.
Both phones have the same processor, Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 in some countries and the company’s own Exynos 2200 in others.
Both phones will come with 8 GB RAM and 128 to 256 GB storage.
The camera setup of both the phones is also the same.
The setup has a 50-megapixel main camera with 12-megapixel Ultra Wide and 10-megapixel zoom cameras, and a 10-megapixel fixed focus selfie camera on the front.
Both are a combination of Android 12 operating system with OneUI 4.1.
Other notable features include 5G support, IP68 waterproof, fingerprint sensor mounted in the display.
