In the ongoing Egbeston Test match between India and England, England bowler Stuart Broad gave up 35 runs in one over.
On the second day of the match on Saturday, India’s all-rounder Rendra Jadeja scored a century.
Stuart Broad is the sixth and most experienced bowler in the world to take 550 wickets in Test cricket, but none of them could surpass Jaspreet Bamra.
Jaspreet Bumra faced a total of eight balls, one of which was a nine and one a wide ball. He scored 23 off six balls with four fours and a six, followed by 12 off one nine and one wideball.
Earlier in the 145-year history of Test cricket, England bowlers James Anderson and Joe Root scored 28.28 runs in the same over.
Jaspreet Bumra did not give a chance to Stuart Broad to take over, but Broad ended the innings by dismissing India’s Muhammad Siraj.
The fifth Test of the series between India and England started on Friday in Egbiston (Birmingham) with Jaspreet Bumra as the captain of the Indian team.
Rohit Sharma, the permanent captain of the Indian team, was ruled out of the fifth Test due to corona virus. In his absence, Indian fast bowler Jaspreet Bumra has been given the responsibility of leading the Indian team.
This is the first time in 35 years that a fast bowler has captained the Indian team in a Test match.
After Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the match, Jaspreet Bamra had said, “We will miss Rohit Sharma in the fifth Test. He is a very important player for us.”
