CHOCOLATE BROWNIES
An American creation, brownies are extravagantly rich and luscious, and usually made with lashings of chocolate.
Ingredients:
Margarine 30g
Chocolate dark 250g (finely chopped)
Butter (unsalted) 80g
Vanilla essence 2 tsp.
Brown sugar 1 cup (firmly packed)
Eggs 2
Plain flour,1/2 cup
Hazelnuts (roasted) 1/2 cup (chopped)
Sour cream 1/3 cup (add a drizzle of lemon juice in it, to make it sour)
Chocolate Icing:
Chocolate dark 125g (chopped)
Margarine 60g

Melt chocolate and butter over simmering water, cool to room tempera ture. Beat with wooden thick and spread able. spoon until
Method:
Grease a deep 19 cm square cake
pan, line base with paper, grease paper. Melt blue band margarine in a pan, add chocolate, stir over low heat until chocolate is melted. Cool for five minutes. Beat butter, essence and sugar in a small bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, beat in eggs one at a time. Transfer mixture to a large bowl. Stir in sifted flour, then chocolate mixture, nuts and cream. Spread mixture into pre pared pan, bake in moderate oven for about 45 minutes, cool in the pan. Turn slice from pan, remove paper. Spread slice with chocolate icing, cut when set.
